Seen this type of thing done with other moving objects, race cars and bicycles for example. But it is MUCH more effective if there is something in the frame that is sharp. A face would be best. I think I know what you're trying to do here, show movement, but for me... not working, this shot would go in my trash bin.
My Suggestion: Keep it up (keep making more)...as images like this are about moments and movement and often "abstraction"...and capturing that with a slow shutter can yield very interesting and pretty images.

I tried several shutter speeds but this is the one I like regardless of shortcomings. It’s really hard to plan this kind of a shot and I guess luck plays a major role. Any tips or suggestions to shoot a stage show with slow shutter speeds are welcome.
