CS and LR do a fine job of dealing with this, too.

a couple large-sized, wide-gamut images (needs color-managed browser such as firefox and, of course, the extra colors only show on a wide gamut monitor in wide gamut mode but it will still look ok so long as the browser is color-managed even on a regular monitor, just lacking some saturated tones and golden evening sun tones on the second one): http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8466/8114462658_29ad97175b_h.jpg

Wow, the recent images are really impressive. Kudos to everyone .
Here are two more I took under weird weather conditions in the Chilean Andes to keep the thread alive. It was very windy and quite chilly day. A dust storm is looming and traveling at a fairly high speed along the foothill. The second image, captured some 20 minutes later, shows not only a more threatening dust storm but fast approaching towards us. People took pictures until practically the last seconds before hunkering down and covering their gear. The sky around us turned dark for a while.

pretty impressed with the focusing speed/accuracy, wide-open sharpness, colours/contrast & bokeh of this lens.. a couple of bokeh samples for my 24-70mm f/2.8L Mark II review from a short walk-around, both shot on the 1Ds3..

in general, this lens is amazing. this plus 70-200 F/2.8 IS II, and 100L is my entire Canon Full Frame Lens lineup. I sold both 17-40L and 24-105L and 50 and 135 once I got these. Phenomenal sharpness wide open

How on earth do you have flower like that now up in Toronto
Nice shots.
thank you! hasn't gotten too too cold here yet this year, though last week was pretty gloomy/rainy & there wasn't a lot of light.. but typically until the frost hits, there's always signs of life around if you look hard enough.. those photos were taken on a late-afternoon on a cloudy/overcast day - I probably warmed them up a tiny bit (via white balance) when I was processing the RAWs relative to how the scenes actually looked in person..
