Just wondering is there anyone that using the picture style options on the camera like Advanceflat, Velvia...or prefer to do it as the post processing? And what is the preferred or common style for wedding pictures?

If you shoot raw, why bother?

the histogram you view on the back of your LCD ain't the histogram for your raw capture tho, if you really want to know.

PME- point missed entirely.

If the histogram is being used to judge exposure that is THE reason the picture style matters.

pdt0102,
Since you are shooting raw the pictures style you choose only affects the camera display, the jpeg preview in the raw file, the histogram, and the starting point in Canon's DPP software.

I would suggest you try the "p-studio" (Studio Portrait), style with contrast set to -1, or "Standard" with contrast set to -2.

You can download the Studio Portrait Canon picture style at this Canon Japan website.

The Histogram that you view on the back of the LCD is NOT the Histogram for the RAW capture.

What the? I never said the histogram on the camera is the histogram of the raw file. I said the picture style affects the histogram.

You have misunderstood everything I have tried to communicate in this thread about why the picture style can matter even when shooting raw.

1. The histogram on the camera is the histogram for the jpeg or the jpeg preview inside the raw file.
2. The picture style used (tone curve) and the settings (contrast, saturation, etc.) affect this jpeg.
3. The picture style settings can be changed to get a more useful histogram.

If you still don't understand I don't know what else to say.
