I received mine that was on backorder from One Call. You might ring them up and see if their warehouse has them to ship. I believe mine was shipped straight from that location and while the website showed "coming soon" http://www.onecall.com/

I don't think it's an error at all, I think he's just trying to take advantage of the supply/demand of that lens. Someone might be happy to pay close to the price he's asking. There's always that crowd that wants it, no matter how much of a premium it's going to cost them.

check all sorts of local stores (even if they are not local to you, if they have any even half-way decent web site presence, they probably ship)
copies come into them now and then and the lists may not be miles long like with the big boys
kenmore,unique,berger bros,norman,allens,florham village are a few spots, there are surely many more
kenmore seems to have been getting a lot more stock than their lists have been long, in particular

Then I looked closely - they are asking $2,369 for Version 1! Scammers - be careful.
I did a couple of searches there for Version II, I just kept coming back to the same listing for Version I. It talks about how it is an update to the 28-70.

PC nation gets in a few every week. I got mine weeks ago with no preorder. Due to a decentering issue though I am getting a replacement and that ships today. So as you can see its quite easy to get this lens from them. I highly recommend them. Ask for Pearl and she will take care of you.
