Hey guys - this week on our Livestream I'm going to be chatting with FM's own Sergio Mottola and Chuck Anerino. I'm stil finalizing the talking points but I'm welcoming your questions for myself, Sergio or Chuck in this thread or you can send me a PM if you want to keep it Anon. I'm planning on talking about the significance of maintaining creative license, associate programs, whether travel work weighs on the pro, etc.
Let me know what i on your mind and what you'd like to hear us discuss. Since it is a live stream you can tune in and drop questions in the Live Chat section and we'll answer them in real time. You can rewatch the show as it will automatically upload to my Youtube Channel after we end the broadcast.
Todd
Jackie and I are going to be moving to Colorado next year and would like to develop a multi day package (basically we show up for 3-4 days and document everything involved in the wedding process). Sergio does this a lot and I just want to know more about how he sells it, makes it profitable, and whatever other evil genius stuff you guys can come up with to talk about it.
btw how come we cannot see anyone elses comments on the live chat during the video?
Hey Doug, I didn't realize you couldn't see anyone else's comments. I think some folks were responding to each other's comments, so I'm not sure what you're seeing, or if what I see as the admin is what you see. Can anyone else comment?
Multi-day is on the list. I'll be asking him who wants this type of coverage and how to market it.
Last time I tuned it (during the Spencer Boerup one) I could comment fine though I don't know if they could be seen in Admin view. If I'm home in time I'll take a screencap of the screen so you can see what we're seeing
On the first show we did (the one with Spencer) we didn't know how to access the chat to see the questions, so that was our learning experience. We've can monitor the chat in real time now. I'm curious because I know Doug was checking out last week's show and I'm looking at the chat from that and people are responding to each other so I assumed if you could post comments you could see the other comments.
Chuck: You seem like a guy that really values having a "vision". Yet I would assume you get clients from Tony that might not otherwise contact you. How does this affect the way you shoot those clients, or does it? I often find that when I shoot clients that I know don't really "get" my brand, I cripple myself artistically by worrying too much about shots that I normally don't worry about.
Sergio: You are doing such an incredible job of landing the right clients. How much of that is based on things leading up to the inquiry (blog posts, portfolio shown, etc.) and how much is done during the inquiry? Do you find yourself turning down gigs that wouldn't be a good fit for you, or do you only show publicly the ones that were? To clarify, do you knowingly shoot gigs for the $$ with no intention of blogging them.
