Last week, I ordered a second U2711 to replace a Samsung 215TW that just gave up the ghost. I look forward to running a pair of U2711's.
The U2711 is a bit old now for the Anandtech forum (link below, look towards end of article), but it's still an excellent monitor. I found a comparison of the current Dell 30 and U2711 on http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews... After calibration, the U2711 had slightly better performance than the 30 in most/all categories. I really like the one I've been using for about a year, and so I bought another one. Finally, I'll have the same size screens on both sides.
Jim, I did the same thing today as you did before. Order a second U2711 to replace my Samsung 214T.
They had a weekend sale on it for $ 775 including the 25% VAT.
I know this is an old thread, but I just want to let anyone interested in this monitor know that it is currently on sale at Dell.com to --> $599 after coupon code "PFV707H63WHNMJ" (no quote).
Dell also has a promotion of buy $400 gift card and receive another $75. This will help brings the cost down to $525 before tax.
if you use your display below its recommended output you are introducing lower Q to it. I can control just about every visual aspect of my OS so my rather well used eyes have little issue resolving what needs to be read on my display.
