You might want to invest in a Fat Gecko camera mount for cars. I use it for video with the DSLRs and it works great. Easily adjustable and suction cups don't scratch paint. A tool like this in the hands of a shooter like you would make for some awesome shots!
War Vet, thank you. I just try to have fun with the assignments, sometimes it works, sometimes not so much. it is a creative outlet for me more than anything else...my wife, parent's and neighbors all shake their heads a lot...
I have an older Chase Cam suction mount, but it is old, and I did not trust the suction cup with my 7D and 10-22...I probably should invest in something that can hold the camera up, I think it would be a lot of fun. I thought about using my GoPro mount too...but was worried that it could not support the weight, even if I took the grip of the camera body...so, I just rigged up my tripod and made it work...problem solving at its best! Made it fun too.
