p.2 #3 · Help please...Canon T1i overexposure problems
Here is the latest update. I borrowed a friends' T1i and tested it in my backyard with two shots tonight. This helped me confirm that mine is broken. I'm taking it in tomorrow to get it adjusted/repaired. Hopefully they can fix the light meter(?) problem. The only difference in these two shots is my buddy has firmware v1.0.9 and I have v1.1.0. Otherwise, the lens and shooting modes were the same. Evaluative metering, Auto ISO, P mode...kit lens at full wide. The exif details are on the Picasa links again.
My cam took the shot in 1/20sec at f3.5 and ISO250.

Well done, gusthecat. Glad you are getting some resolution. And thanks for the update.
It is amazing how many people come into the forum thinking their lens or camera is bad and then 1) First we have to ask them for the most basic information about which lens, which camera, what settings, etc. that should be obvious to include 2) We suggest simple basic tests to do that they should have thought of themselves.
The OP's testing is the kind of approach and testing that I wish more people did. But then again, many people go through life working hard to prove that science class and the teaching of the scientific method was wasted on them. It's like a badge of honor or 'cool' in many circles to say they have a block on mathematics or science. These are people who would never think it cool for anyone to claim to be illiterate.
Basic testing (like the OP did) is application of the scientific method.
