Beautiful personal series. Way to lead in with the oldie but goodies, especially the one in the bar with your Dad keeping an eye on his buddy. The series certainly struck a chord, and am very appreciative of you sharing.

Your Dad and mine might have served together in WWII since they were both in the navy.
I lost my father Aug. 15th over 20 years ago and I can remember it as if was yesterday.

Like others, I'm practically moved to tears by these images. It's an intimate time for a family; its courageous to take and share them. This actually takes me back to my own Dad's passing nearly 20 years ago. I offer my condolences and respect. Peace to you and your family.

My condolences to you and your family as well Ron. We went though nearly the identical situation back in 2002 when I lost my dad. Your anthology of pictures really set the stage for a family and life well lived. They all looked so darned good back in the 50's. I love the pics of my mom and dad who also met and married in the latter 40's. My mom just turned 92 and is still getting around pretty well. I always try to just remember my dad when he was well and active. So should you as well. May you be blessed and keep his memory alive. It's obvious he was a great dad
Again, I appreciate everyone's comments. A number of people have mentioned the photograph of them in the bar. Man, I love that shot! He was at the top of his game there, right after WWII, his whole life ahead of him, and he's just started dating my Mom.
