This part of central Asia came as a complete surprise to me; it was a whole lot like the exotic Middle East- and very little like Russia. An economic backwater, perhaps, but the food in the markets looked good and the people smiled, and that was very different than in Moscow and St Petersburg.

And you are very welcome. Because I'm first a traveler, and then a documentary photographer, I prefer photographs with a few words explaining- or elaborating upon- the scene depicted. Especially in foreign lands.
