Very nice Jim. You are unleashing the camera potential, combined with your expertise!
Nikon should give you a free D800E now!
Hey Craig, thanks so much! I am glad you like it. As to the Nikon D800E, I think you are right. Nikon hopefully is paying attention to the photos I am putting out that is promoting the Nikon D800 series and they ought to give me a D800E so I can promote that camera also... Nikon? You listening??

You have me wanting to try this now.
Thank you for posting the settings you used so I have a general starting point.
Great Work!
Thanks so much! I am glad that you liked it. Shooting stars is not quite as hard as it might feel. So it will be great to see you go out and try. Just be sure to post your results so that we can all enjoy your labor.
Beautiful shot.
Shooting stars is easy ( NOT ), ...It's the staying up late, or part of the night that's hard. Of course it helps to not always have a full moon, cool subjects or landscapes to shoot and to get away from city lights.
The other morning the moon ( with it's crescent ) was right below venus and I was thinking man it would be kool to get the moon right behind venus and snap a shot. Any one notice that ?
Hope to figure out how to stack pictures in photoshop someday.
