p.5 #1 · 7D 2.0 any problems?

Not good to hear mate and hope it comes good. I have a 7d same time frame as yours and it took the v2 firmware no worries.

Maybe my camera was about to die and it's pure coincidence it died immediately after FW 2 update, but I am dubious as camera was working perfectly less than 24 hours prior to update.

Do you get an error message or does it just lock up?

Mine too but my mind is not at rest. Sometimes knowledge can be a curse.

Happy shooting,
Yakim.

No issues or problems. I really am enjoying the better buffer when shooting wildlife in RAW. My only wish is that Canon makes some of the menu options available on my 5DII.

Perhaps these problems are for a specific serial # range?

No error message. Just locks up and always shows 1/60 ss speed for some reason. Even turning off the camera the top lcd stays on until I pull the battery. I have not used the 7d since saturday so don't know if still an issue, I usually use my 5d mk11 anyway. I will probably wait a bit for an update before I call Canon to complain.

1.2.5 killed my battery meter, a huge PITA.

I work at Canon, so will take it in on monday to the service centre. The biggest disappointment was I was holidays and only on the second day of a week long stay when it went pear shaped. Luckily it was not the only camera I took away.

What did you do about the battery meter? Mine just stopped working this afternoon out of the blue. I did the update the day it came out (well, maybe the next day...) and had two "err" messages within a couple of days after. Nothing since then until today. It says that it "cannot read battery information-Continue?" Any suggestions? I have 4 Canon batteries, all of which I tried, fully charged. I even took them out for varying lengths of time, still no reading. The camera works but the battery level indicator is blank/empty.

It has to go back to Canon, they know about the problem.

Just did the 2.0 install on my two year old 7D. It was easy and painless.
The only thing I had to do was reset the time, which was automatically a prompt after the install.

I fired off 28 RAW before the buffer filled using my Sigma 12-24mm.
So far, so good.

Really like the new max auto ISO setting, and dialed it to 800 for starters.

Well 5 days and Canon still have my 7D. I'm waiting for the phone call to say yes FW 2 did destroy your camera and would you accept this 1D X as compensation.

After the 2.0 download on my 7D, I am having a problem with the AF on my 100-400 IS and my 300 f4 IS.
At times these lenses will fail to autofocus. I shoot in one shot mode and use the center point.

All of my other Canon lenses will focus fine on my 7D. The 100-400 IS and the 300 IS focus as they should
on my 5D and 20D bodies. I have this problem with IS on and off.

Has anyone else had a problem like this after the download?

No problems what-so-ever. Taken about 400 pictures + 4 movie clips since new firmware.

I had the same issue with mine. Have you sent it back yet? I hate to be without my camera for too long, so I don't want to send it. I also notice that the batteries seem to die MUCH faster now too, like the camera is always drawing power, even when turned off.
