Nice review and great images, Arash. Thank you for posting that. Now, I need to buy that lens... . I sent you a PM with a really minor suggestion, BTW.

Thanks for the great review and the fantastic images! I have the 500L and was curious about handholding. It sounds like I can which over to the longer focal length and enough similar if not better handholding!
amazing images & even better review! very informative for sure.. thank you for taking the time to put that all together Arash!
i'm still debating between the 600mkII or the 500mkII.. i'd LOVE to be able to shoot the 600mkII handheld as effectively as some of you seasoned pros, but given that I didn't have tremendous success during extended sessions with the 500mkI, i'm leaning towards the 500mkII..
reading your observation that the 600mkII "feels lighter" because of the better balance makes me tempted though!

Gee thanks Arash, you may have just convinced me to get the 600 II!
Nice work and write up, very informative.
I've already been buttering up the wife for a few months. Of course between now and my birthday in December, I will change my mind 247 times on whether to get the 500 II or 600 II.

Realistically, I will never own this lens but I do enjoy perspective and appreciate good writing. The images are beyond beautiful! Thanks for sharing your views...

Regarding 600 II vs. 500 II, IMO it all depends on the weight you are comfortable with. If you are happy with the weight of the current 500 I would def get the 600 as you get more reach that can increase your field productivity. If the current 500 feels too heavy then the new 500 is your lens. Both lenses can produce excellent images for sure.
