Thanks for everyone's input. It was quite valuable. Made me reconsider what I was doing. After a week of further research I decided to purchase the Elinchrom EL102901 Ranger Quadra RX Kit. We'll see how that goes. I can still see myself complimenting that kit with some Speedlites, but I think it will work well for what I have planned, especially now that Elinchrom has announced a new Li-Ion batter for this unit.
Thanks again.
Yeah, after the fierst cpl of replys i thought
Huh?
Quadra?
Anyone?
However, and i hope you don't misunderstand this, but for simple shots like the ones you show you're still totaly overequipt.
awesome pics and the quality of light is superb. well done. and the kit you ended up with is light years better then I believe you would have gotten with the 600's. Light quality is just soo much nicer. I went from white lighting to a very simple strobist set up and now I'm starting to find myself looking to get mono's again.
The quality of light....
Don't get me wrong tho, the strobist set up I have is simple and has been a blast to work with. 3 sb-24 a 32 octa, cybersyncs, a couple wescott shoot thru's and a couple nano stands all fit in my camera bag. Well the octa not so much but you get the idea. portable.
