10 for this year, my first year. Nothing booked for next year. Ever since I raised my rates, inquiries dropped significantly. I'm hoping that trend doesn't continue in the next 6 months. In the meantime, I am revamping the site, getting in new sample products, and getting ready to rebrand and reprice myself for a more profitable client base.
Ricardo,
I dont think I did much that made a real difference in the end. I think it came down to the massive amount of fear mongering our press likes to do about an impending recession etc etc which meant that everyone just waited until close to the end of the financial year to start spending instead, it just delayed the booking cycle thats all.
Now everyone has realised that the sky over Australia is not falling in across the board, people are more willing to spend again.
Good job morgan. glad to hear it turned around. i would like a few more this year, just so i can do a lot less next year We actually just reached our goal for 2013. So if we book a few more then we are done for 2013. If we dont, then I will take 3 or 4 more for 2013. I thought about taking 10-15 more and faming them out to my second shooters so they get more work.
We've booked two this week for fall, and have another that may book tomorrow. All have been phone consults with no face to face time, and all are destination in the US. Pretty cool. Also have a couple 2013, and have a 2014 on the books.
Well done Morgan I'd like to pick up more this year but only have 2 booked hahaha oh well I am not pursuing as hard as I could or should but I ain't fussed tbh. Just crusin it, is how I see it as a part timer .
It's picking up and as others noticed - ppl are willing to spend more... either that or we jumped to higher tier, since we raised our prices by 30% for 2013 and we already are at the 4th booking for next year (last year we didn't start booking for 2012 till late fall). On top of weddings we have plenty of other gigs from previous clients - which fall nicely in between.
