I've been using a D5100 with a new Delkin 32gb SDHC 600x card shooting NEF and a few movies for the past two week. It was getting pretty full. Suddenly today it just quit working and the camera screen read: "This memory card cannot be used. Card may be damaged. Please insert another card." It won't pull up photos. When card is inserted into my little Acer Netbook (PC) the card does not show up on the pick list at all. I tried using it in a SD card reader in USB port and it still does not register. How do I recover photos? I've not found anything on the internet about it. I tried to find the photos with with Nikon View on the netbook, which has always worked great before. Computer simply will not find the card.

Might not be able to...if your card took a dumb, it may be lost forever

Try cleaning the contacts on the card with rubbing alcohol and try again.

Delkin does not have a recovery program for you to try?
Check their website or call them.

There is a place, ESS Data Recovery, that said they could very likely do it. I'm sending the card to them.

which came with a card I bought and it worked very well when I deleted a card by mistake.

1. Data recovery software does not ALWAYS work.

2. A good reason for not always filling a card if you have others with you.

3. A good reason to use smaller capacity cards, not all your eggs in one basket.

4. Companies that recover data can be very expensive.

5. A good reason for having a camera that writes to two separate cards at the same time.
