p.1 #1 · Singh-Ray Blue-N-Gold

Has anyone used this filter? I keep going back and forth between thinking its a cheesy tool and thinking it's pretty awesome.

Cool tool or useless waste of money........?

Both, when it works, it works well, but otherwise it looks kind of cheesy and you'll wish for a normal polarizer.

I did like mine at times, but not for all images and for occasional usage I could not justify the rather high price.

I have one and rarely use it. As millsart said when it works it works and when it doesn't well.. Do it all over again and I'd probably pass.

I had one for a few weeks ... very gimmicky to be honest, unless the scene in front just begs for blue and gold ...

The Singh Ray Blue n Gold is a great filter to have in your bag. I don't use it often, as I don't get out to shoot landscapes (or travel) near as much as I'd like to. And sometimes when traveling I get stuck with crappy conditions when shooting landscapes; I just don't have much choice. It's those crappy conditions that I find the Singh Ray Blue n Gold filter earns its space in my bag.

Had it, the few times I tried never liked the look of the shot. Like others it I sold it as well.

It sure is a niche filter. When it works for a scene, it works great. I have the Singh Ray one and have taken some interesting shots. Its not a every day shoot filter.

Btw, the Singh Ray tips on using and post-processing of images captured with the Blue N Gold are helpful in using/understanding this unique filter. There are a couple of small links located about half-way down the page: http://www.singh-ray.com/goldnblue.html
