For what it's worth, my horrible experience from VistaPrint has been fixed. They refunded my money not even 24 hours after I sent an email. So for now, I call it even.

A C for copyright will not protect a logo. To protect it, you need to register a trademark, or TM.
A trade mark is just that: it's a designation for a mark, symbol, logo, word mark, etc., that represents a trade and or service. The visual identifier for all of the above.
Copyright protects copy, as in written literature.
With that said, unless you're planning to build a nationally recognized corporate franchise out of your photography business, you really don't have to protect your symbol as it's pretty much specific to you, and pretty useless to a competitor in the industry.
