That collie shot is just perfect Jim. I hated the 1.8D partly because of the poor bokeh. The 1.8G is an amazing 85mm with much better color, bokeh and especially sharpness. One of the best bargains out there considering what lens prices are these days.

to the gang: I picked up an 85 1.8 as well but have not shot a single picture with it yet. If I get a keeper I'll share as well, but just through the viewfinder I can tell this lens is quite the optic to see a shot with. Highly recommended from all I've seen and all I've read.
