p.1 #1 · radio poppers use out of the US

I'm going to be doing some travel out of the US soon. And I'm wondering if my radio kit can come along.

I know they have different frequencies for different countries...

Will my US versions work? Cause international incidents? What?

Thanks in advance

I use mine (US versions) in the UK and Israel, no problems at all.

Your FCC approved US versions will work, however they will not be authorised and will not be approved for use like the correct CE versions would.

Potential problems are that the radio frequency can interfere with machine operations, safety switches, remote controls, emergency and police radio equipment, personal hearing devices and computer equipment. The US Pocket Wizard frequency is used by fire and rescue radios in Europe, so it wouldn't be a good idea to meddle with unauthorised wavelengths as you simply don't know what the result might be. What exactly is the wavelength used by the US RP's?

If the frequency does interfere with necessary legitimate radio controls, you could find yourself in big trouble, and if TSA or Border controls do their job properly and check your equipment, they could well be confiscated for not bearing a CE authorisation.

thank you ukphotographer - that is exactly what I was worried about. My destination is not known to be very lenient on infractions...not EU.

I'll look into it when I arrive...thanks.
