All taken with a 20 years old ( but new for me) EF300/2.8L(non-IS)+1.4Tc III+1.4 Kenko pro TC (with effective 600mm) paired with 5d III, handheld. I can see some CA but trying to get the 2X TC III in the hope that it will cut down the CA bit.
Sadly, 5DIII has outperformed my trusty 1D4 at the same set up.
Incredible shots!! Wow, you've got some skillz! The IQ is awesome considering the 1.4x (x2). My 300/2.8 + 2x II TC + 7D has never produced shots with that good of IQ, although the canon 2x III would probably be quite a bit better.
Every single one of these is amazing, I can't pick a favorite.
Great you certainly nailed these series. #5 is the best, it has dynamic wing position with the KD banking towards you, with fanned tail and beautiful topside details and also a nice varied BG instead of sky.
I might sharpen the head and dorsal details just a tad more.
These are some great shots. I would have to say #4 is my favorite. Have you spent much time around these birds? I stumbled on a nest last summer and got chased by a very angry momma bird. The mothers do this thing where they pretend to have a broken wing to distract you from the nest. It was really neat to watch, but I made sure to stay clear from that point on.
