I really like your take here...bugs are the typical subject of macro photography, I think it works really good for the theme.

Well done Barb and I agree with Travis that bugs are the staples for macro so this fits perfectly. Nice lighting too.

Travis, this bug hangs out in Downtown Grants Pass. I pass him but have never stopped to take a photo. When I saw this assignment I thought it may work.

Roberta, thanks for the kind comments. I went through a phase a couple of years ago when I shot mostly macro. I forgot how much I enjoyed it.

Mark, not many towns have a bug playing a musical instrument in their downtown area. The lighting was strictly a combination of street lights and high ISO. I had a street light behind bug and I had to change position to hide it.

I agree with Travis - this is an ingenious take on a common macro subject, and the urbanity of a bass-playing bug cannot be denied...
