Bonnie, I hope everything is well with you. We have not seen each other since those days at Bosque. I am glad you like that camera. Great shot; I love it !
Hi Joshua!
Everything is going great! Hope the same for you. I check in and take a look at the forum once in awhile. I am seriously thinking about another Bosque Trip this winter.
I was waiting for this camera as I was wanting a FF, but the mkII was not doing it for me.
Hope to meet up with you someday again!

Well, Michael, here is mine so far but with a disclaimer: I posted this previously, it is not an action shot and it doesn't show any banding . This yellow-crowned heron ruffled its feather after just swallowing its food, a crayfish. I used one of the outer points to focus on the eye and without recomposition.
Joshua,
That is one seriously "birds as art" image! Thanks for the inspiration!

I am thinking about going to Bosque again this winter. The first full moon in December, I will see you there!

Hi Jim, thanks! Yup, I understood from Leon that you go there quite a bit . I will be back there, maybe we can shoot together.
Hey Joshua!
I try to make as many trips there as I can during the spring. I'm scheduling a trip in April, May, and June. Maybe we can hook up. Talked to Leon this evening and he is interested too.
I'm also going back to Bosque this coming winter. It has been a couple of years since I have made that trip.
Hi Jim,
I will be back in Texas next month and will stay longer there but I will become a grandfather shortly after that and it would be tough for me to sneak away but I can try. May is definitely a possibility for me to do so. I will touch base with Leon then.
Bosque in the winter is almost a sure thing. Again, during the first full moon in December. I just looked it up, full moon is on December 28. Probably not a bad idea, after Christmas but before New Year.

Nice. What selection method? Single point? Expanded? Zone? Spot?

Seems to do the trick.
Thanks. Still struggling with this, what would be the best for my uses. None of my cameras so far had it (in a fashion that would actually work, anyway).
My low light testing samples, just night time snap shots and interior for High ISO test, Im impressed with the low noise and quick focus! Feel free to download the high res files: http://susilawson.zenfolio.com/p1028515361
Anyone else noticed that it seems that Canon did something with colors? 5DMK3 looks quite different than 5DMK2 in this.. Much more pleasant colors, tho might be just processing.
