I got up early this morning to shoot some street scenes. I planned to take a picture of an old abandoned welding shop that I drive past every day. I parked the car on a side street. As I walked the short block toward "Frank's Welding" the sun rose and lit up this little roadside memorial. In the years I had driven past the spot I had never even noticed it.

Every year in California thousands of people are killed in car accidents. Those who are left behind do what they can to make sure that the victims will not be forgotten.

Comments are always welcomed.

Powerful image Eager. I think of the families everytime I drive by these memorials.

Good catch with the shadow behind - makes the flowers pop out more. DOF helps hold the interest as well.

That's a scene repeated in the UK as well. A very powerful image that should remind us just how fragile life can be. Thanks for posting it.
