Some beautiful images here. It seems like image 1 would be perfect for what they wanted but idk. From what you said it sounds like they wanted you to paste in a different background that showed marsh habitat ?(not sure if that's what you meant) If that is what you meant, then kudos to you for taking the high road and not altering your work. I love 4 and 5 and 6 also - very good shots.

I think the first shot fitted the bill perfectly and should have been published Peter. Their loss!
Some super shots following this first one, good job.

A fine selection of shots Peter. Too bad they didn't want the grocery cart bird I'm not a big fan of 3 but I think that is a personal preference, I like to see the birds face. You did do an excellent job on the exposures on these and for me that is uber important

Thank you, Ashley, yes, that's what was needed, some nice background scene from the marsh....after all, the place is not exactly a dump.
Hell, if I knew how to do it, I would have transplanted a jungle scene from Belize for the shot background.

I know what you mean about the filth Peter, down at the wetlands they have to bring
in a crane to lift out the trash that accumulates at the tide gate every once in awhile.
Peter, I can only repeat what others already mentioned.
The first is a very strong image with a strong message.
All the others are great shots except for #3. That one is ... interestingly differed.
