Thats unlikely to be a 100 per cent crop, look at the perspective on the lights in the background. If it IS a 100 per cent crop then that would be extraordinarily good at very high ISO!
Hmmm, I'm not totally floored even if it is a crop in regards to level of detail. As far as I recall, the sensor in D7000 should have almost the same pixel size as 36 MP in a full frame, and the D7000 is at least doing as well IMHO:
Because it is a film poster the picture may have been produced using a stil from the video.

Did somebody here see/find that image?
The image for the film (poster) certainly looked like a still grab from the video stream. There was some very noticable 'ghosting' in portions of the image. It did not appear to be consistent with any sort of motion blur found in a still image.
The full 36mp image posted on flickr was also kinda lousy. The exif had been stripped so it wasn't useful for assessing noise (not to mention there was no indication of what processing may or may not have been accomplished). Additionally there was some very noticable motion blur which made it impossible to assess fine detail.

Well actually there are 2 D800,s released. I am wondering if the rumour mills are correct. They were with Nikon so maybe the 5D 3 will be the reported 56MP.

Well, back to Canon EOS 5D MK III/X:
Northlight, for me the most accurate rumor site came with a new one yesterday:
"20th We've hearing of NDAs expiring on the 2nd of March.
Now we also hear of a 5D3 (and only a 5D3) spec for a launch on the 2nd
22MP, 6fps, 61 focus points (41 cross) same as 1DX system
100-25600 Basic ISO 1024k dots LCD display 3:2 wide (or 3.2" ?)
Best Video quality in a DSLR."
