You better hope it is not 6+ fps, pro 1 series AF and 36MP otherwise, with zero left to complain about, your site will quickly go to zero traffic and die.
Of course not. Just imagine the surge in posts after the first focusing issue rumors start to emerge.

Clearly none of them is an existing model, both are FF, one is the 1DX, so obviously yes?
It's not too hard of a conclusion to draw, is it?
Well, if someone is already using them, I guess they already exist.

21 to 24mp wouldn't make considerable difference in resolution. I'm hoping for 36MP.
Speculations apart, I found it entertaining how we were introduced to the new Canon body.
I hope the Canon employee does not get in trouble...
Maybe a 32MP 5DXH in late 2013?? 32MP scales better for 4k video and if they design a high MP sensor they probably want it to also do 4k so they can get dual use out of it

As mentioned above, the "Rate" button is labelled in blue so it's for playback mode. That rules out any kind of fps function (still or video). Best guess is it adds a star rating to each image - although I can't imagine trying (or wanting) to rate an image before pp.
It might be useful for deadline work, where you say quickly star some shots during time outs or break in whatever action there is at whatever you are shooting

I would not be too sure about that Whayne. Think about the spread Canon needs in it's portfolio. A 5Dx should be further away from the 1Dx to justify the difference in cost and performance. I bet it will have a 7d like AF system, which is better than the current 5DmkII AF, but worse (and more cost effective!) than that of the 1D serie models.

But 6fps vs 12fps should be enough in itself, action pros want 8fps min so 6fps wont cut it as a main body for them no matter if the camera had every other spec perfect so why cripple other stuff needlessly?
And your post about a helper digic 4 sounds kind of 1DX AF-like. Maybe it's 1DX AF with helpers only around some points instead of all or something.
And remember if D800 has 36MP and all they need to make this one shine.

My hopes are fading, but not because of the processing speed. We did get dual Digic in the 7D.
With 6 fps and a better AF, it will be enough of an upgrade for a large customer base, and Canon will want to save the resolution upgrade for the 2015 model, or an entirely different camera. Getting it all now seems just too good to be true.
Canon's new patent (just released, filed in 2010) for Back-Illuminated FF and APS-C sensors is a good sign that they are working on higher resolution sensors, and that those will not suffer in efficiency compared to lower resolution sensors. ...Show more →
yeah my guess is we get a pretty topped out AF, 6fps, 18MP now and then 2015 or so we get the 32MP jump with the backlit sensor
not sure they can give it all at once, even giving us all but the MP is more than they have done in ages

This just in, Ron discovers that 1DX AF is worse for soccer than the original rebel AF.
5D2 AF said to "blow away" 5DX AF for action events.
New outer x-points only focus with f/1.4 lenses.
