Hmm, maybe he doesn't fall under the non-disclosure agreement. Canon already announced the lens, so no biggie there. On the other hand, the camera is new and hasn't been announced yet. Hmmm, come to think of it, maybe Canon did want the world to know that they are working on a new camera body prior to the official announcement. Normally, Canon, when testing a new camera, tends to use a black housing to hide the new body.
One can hope that the MFn button and joystick on grip imply the recent rumors about 9pt AF or less (and maybe event the 3-4 or 5fps) are wrong. Maybe it'll be 50D speed with 7D+++ or 1D3 or 1D4 AF .
As for MP, Canon does like to save money and reuse sensors if they can so hard to say maybe 18MP and not some new 25-36MP

If they go to a 1.3x sensor, they'll probably call it something else like maybe a 3D.
That would be my guess as well. Canon themselves have said APS-H isn't dead and I highly doubt they would be brave enough to rid the 7 series of EF-S support, unless they provide a crop-mode and a mirror clearance workaround.

... but why is he shooting in single frame mode at a safari?
Because most of the time the beasts just lay or stand around.
Heck I shot like 3/4 of my wildlife shots using liveview 10x zoom manual focus! (partly because the 40D had not MFA and Canon was too busy to fix it before African expedition with Nat Geo grrrrrrrrr, but as I said, they mostly just sit around).
People think it's all wild chases and running and darting when well we left before sunrise on morning and came upon some lions laying around and we came back right before sunset and they were still in the same spot, some still laying in the same pose on their backs .
It's hot out there, catching food is tricky so you want to save energy and moving is tiring and wastes energy!

As the current poll suggests, this is what most people want. (3DX)

He only admitted to the 200-400 and 600 II and 1DX all of which have been announced. And if Canon wanted him to shoot wildlife on safari what is he to do? It's not like Canon can rope off a section of Kenya for him .

Well I have been in Africa and so I know a bit how things go, and was mainly being funny (and obviously failed). But having said that, even when I shoot static landscapes I keep the camera in high speed, if for no other reason than you never know when you need it, and the time to switch to continuous may ruin the day. Granted, with the 1Ds3 high speed isn't that high, but still.

On the camera without popup flash thing.
Yes it does look like a new camera (5D3 possibly) but I don't get why no popup flash on this one. Now that canon have actually got off their arse and made the popup do something usefull like control another flashes I would have thought it would have been integrated into the next 5D .
It's not like a full frame can't have a popup, loads of film bodies did and so does the d700 .
because a bunch of casual users whined that they won't look like pros if they have to use a camera with a built-in flash and the foul odor would mean they'd have to shoot with hand since the other would to be dedicated to holding their nose
The 200-400s body is definetly a 1D X.
The second one looks strong like a 7D follow up to me. But it could of course be a 5D III or a 3D . Anyway it is no known camera imo. And the grip of course is not, too.

On another note, this person stopped to take images of the new lenses and camera but failed to get a single shot of the camera badge? Smells like a strategic leak to me...
I'm not so sure. I think it would be relatively easy to keep the badge hidden from spying eyes. And just as easy to leave it off any prototypes.

Nice
Doesn't the OVF hump look too big for APS-C? So that leans it toward 2DX or 5DX I think. Maybe, maybe the new C3 special video DSLR.

oopps I had a brain freeze I was thinking One Shot vs. AI Servo not Single Shot vs. High Speed. Yeah I agree most people keep it on High Speed much of the time since you never know.
EDIT: actually no I didn't, it did show One Shot AF
stanj wrote:

In the first photo he's shooting vertically and not using the vertical grip of the 1Dx.
Maybe he's just not very good and that's why we always see less than stellar sample shots from the manufacturers?

I think we've gone over this already.
Probably not a APS-C, because it does have the large mirror box hump and no built-in flash.
Of course, it's all just speculation, but I think logical speculation.

IF the badge was left off that's one thing but if it were on I highly doubt this individual would be walking around shading it with his hand the whole time--there would be at least a bit of tape involved one would think.
