I had a front page designed for a Pictures Pro "photocart". A shopping cart specifically designed for Photographers. Just needs hosting no fees to split after a nominal upfront fee. Very customizable, you probably need to look at the forum and peruse what others have done to make their own sites unique. But here is mine,
It is a wordpress template. Hosted by godaddy. I built it myself using an off the shelf WP template. A small part is Flash-based. This is my portrait photography site.
A few years ago I used to do car reviews and some commercial stuff. I put all the articles on this simple Google Blogger site: Veritas Images Blogger
A wordpress based site with a Photocrati Template hosted on out here at Rackservers. Dead easy for an IT geek like me to setup - 15 mins from start to finish.Keep it simple was the design principle.
That being said, like the plumbers dripping tap, I need to work on adding more galleries and cleaning some of the rough edges.
I have a smug mug pro account simply for ordering. I used a host and wordpress installed to manage and design my site. I did it all and am constantly tweaking it and changing it. If you want to run a blog and have a gazillion options IMO wordpress is the best way to go. There are 10000 themes that you can buy or get for free...
SEO is a snap through wordpress as well. I market specifically to brides. MY site is always a work in progress...
Site is hosted by Livebooks. In addition to the site you see, there also an iPad and iPhone optimized site as well as an HTML site to help with search engines. I update the site via an easy to use back-end allowing me to get images online in minutes. It is also linked to my Vimeo page so once I upload a video, I add the video to and album and BAM, its on my site.
I used a portfolio template from 500px.com and got it redirected to my own domain - to do this you have to upgrade from free user to "awesome" user - for a small annual fee.
Itīs clean and simple the way I like it, and I can change the design of it, just by a simple click.
Nice work Giorgio. I have a Neon Sky account also, with a slightly different configutarion. Will give you guys an idea to see what's possible in terms of customization looking at Giorgio's and mine:
