I only have the 8 element version, I am planning to get an S-M-C version at some point, then for sure I'll do a head to head.
the version I have does not seem to handle flare vary well, I'll dig up a sample of it.
I think I'm going to retire my Super Tak 135/3.5. It's definitely a bit too long (on APS-C), and its lack of contrast is something I find I want for special subjects but not all. Its going to be replaced with the Nikon 105/2.5 Ai I should be getting soon. Even then I think it'll hold lots of sentimental value as being my very first Alt-lens (purchased two years ago).

I have an extra copy in excellent condition I wanna sell. Ser. No. 4814334 "Super-Multi-Coated TAKUMAR 1:1.4/50"
Thats funny as airplanes always fly over the Mediterranean Sea on the way into the airport.
Picked this one up in very good condition in a local store here in Barcelona for €175 while others are going for €300+ on ebay.
Overall it doesn´t seem quite as magical as the SMC 50 1.4 but still a very good lens. I need to practice more with it.
I really wanted the SMC 85mm f/1.8 but those are going for over €600, way to expensive for me, so happy with this one.
Here's a Takumar I don't think I've ever seen posted, or reviewed:
Takumar-F (AF) 28-80mm f/3.5 (Macro) in K (AF) mount.
I haven't taken it out in a long time but here's just a few simple test shots around the house. It's pretty darn good. It a tad soft at 80mm wide open (at least at 1m focusing distance) but one stop down cures that right up.
