I did not see anything remarkable so I purchased the same filter (my fav) when I bought the lens from BH.

Thank you kindly for the heads-up. I've been looking at this lens since it came out. Last week BH had it for -$300, but I just ordered it for $1974 - whoopee.

I am torn between this and 100L + 135L combo which I current own.

Sunpole, I would never give up my 100L. I use it way more than any 70-200 I've ever owned, but ymmv.

I have the same 100L + 135L combo. I bought the 70-200 f/2.8 IS L II for $1970.00 I can say that the 70-200 is astonishingly sharp.....with bokeh that is gorgeous. The convenience of a zoom is important to some people. The only downside compared to the 100/135 combo is weight. The 70-200 is heavier. But of course you won't have to switch lenses with the 70-200.

In my case I'll be selling the 100 and 135 soon.
