Thanks Travis. The shot was taken at ISO 2000, F2.8, 1/125, handheld, using studio lights with modeling lamps only. Taken with the Fuji X100, no noise reduction and minimally processed.
Cool idea Barbara! I was thinking about selling a couple of lenses to get the money to buy an X100...just can't get myself to part with them. Maybe next year. How's the focusing in low light?
Low light focusing can be a little difficult especially at closer distances and I am still learning what the camera excels at. The high ISO performance is wonderful! There are tips for focusing the camera at closer distances on the web, using the manual focus setting, the EVF and AEL button, which help. I did have to employ the technique to get focus on the egg even though I was using macro mode. I have read a lot of forums on the cameras strengths and weaknesses but so far I am loving the camera even with it's faults.
ts232 thank you for the kind words I appreciate it and good luck.
Mark, as always thank you for commenting on the post. I am glad you like the lighting but I am not an expert by any means, practice, practice and more practice. I need one on one time with the new camera to feel comfortable but everything seems to be working fine. I have found that any errors with picture taking are caused by the operator not the camera
Well actually I do have a spare birds nest laying around the house, found it up in the loft in the barn earlier this year. I didn't have a use for it until now
