She's got a beautiful smile, too bad you didn't take advantage of it more. My highly personal opinion is that you ought to pick one of each pose instead of showing every tiny variation. The pix are great, true, but so many the same or close to it.
Beautiful pictures, lovely model. It is nice seeing how you used the reflector. Now, if you can tell us which kind it is . . . so we can all rush to B&H and place our orders.
My second thought on seeing these pictures is, this should answer the question of whether the Mark II is a worthy successor to the original 1D. I've seen some threads where people say it isn't, they'll just have to trot over here to take a look.
I was just playing with my new lens.
This is my good friend's sister-n-law. She's wanted me to take pictures of her for a bit.
Just figured this was a good time to.
it wasn't for anything special and we had limited locations to shoot in a tight 1 hour schedule.
Also, if the person doesn't normally wear skirts, they shouldn't. It's false advertising and just showing skin for the sake of it.
Carl,
Fido is killin it.
I just hooked him up with a prod. co. here in LA.
he's rockin and rollin, for sure.....
Jamie, she's engaged bro or I'd hook ya up !!
Paul,
If the model doesn't smile alot or isn't comfortable smiling, she shouldn't.
Also, she wanted a serious shot of herself, to possible use as a head shot, hence not too many smiling shots....
the whole point of this was to be funny.
"Holy Crap", is because I used to fill this place with model shots all the time.
I haven't posted in this section in ages, as my surf/skate/sports work, which buys all my nice gear, has been taking up my time.
Some of the images were to show the use of the 35. The others were normal 85mm portraits.
Also, the 'behind the scenes' shots to show folks how I acheived my lighting.
If it's too many for you, don't look. I put the # of shots in the title.
You could have just NOT clicked on it !!!
The reflector is made by JTL.
Great deal for a nice tool.
People can say whatever they want about the mkII.
I have 2 of them. I've shot over 11,000 accuations in the past 8 weeks.
I wouldn't want my old 1D's back for a second.
This IS the camera for PJ's and Sports guys.
Oh, and it does a hell of a job for weddings and portraits as well !
Kurt,....DAMN! I know you're a busy guy with the sports stuff, but this is good therapy for you to do once in a while still! Especially since we get to drool over the results... You have found a very naturally beautiful model as well, and if she doesn't already do a lot of this maybe she should think about it!
Humbly,
David
PS - Thanks for the wide-behind-the-scenes shots, just what I need to start using my reflector more: the use of and results all in one shot.
We missed you here Kurt, beautiful shots! Love the composition on them, very nice, and she's also beautiful! Give yourself a break from the waves every once in a while and shoot some models too! We'd appreciate!
WOW, master of sport photography in the people forum, unusual Beautiful shots Kurt! Fantastic lighting, comps, colors and use of dof and of course a beautiful model. Thanks for the setup info. I think you should do more people photography.
Thanks also for the 'behind the scenes' shots too and to be honest IMHO some of them are very nicely composed images in their own right rather than just being illustrative.
Thanks too for your observations on the MkII __ I want one!
