Partitura, the reason I will give the 24 a try rather than the 25 is twofold. At times, it helps,to have at least one AF lens for walkabout, which my week-end in Tokyo demonstrated to my satisfaction. Also the 24 is f:1.8, and it is necessary for me to have at least one fast lens. this assumes that IQ will be équivalent. If not....

I agree with Philippe on the G21. Not only it still has some color cast/shift, the image quality on the edge/corner is poor. Here is an example of the G21 on NEX 5N.

Thanks ocean. I see a fair amount of vinjetting but that could also be due to the sun I guess. I may be able to see a slight tone of magenta on the left side (?) - perhaps also on the right but Im not sure. Is it obvious to you/any others here? (if so I should check my eyes - because it's really subtle to me :-) I find the image a bit out of focus - but the branches on the left look really bad on the pixel level. But also seem to be closer but should perhaps be within DOF there. I can find my 28 sometimes (not common) leave bad corners, but not to this extent. Thanks for posting!

Thanks, folks, for the advice on the 24 vs 25ZM. Philippe, looking forward to some of your shots from Tokyo.

Cross-post: the following are with the ZM 18 from f/4 to f/8 (in reverse order, IIRC). While this lens isn't THAT wide after the 1.5x magnification, it's still incredibly dependable, right from f/4, and quite sharp.

Thanks for the examples of the CV21. I'm considering this lens.

Assuming NEX-C3 and 5N microlenses are the same, here are two great threads with examples:

Luka's C3: Link

Chinese forum comparing C3 and 5: Link

To my eye the C3 looks better than the 5n in the comparison shots in the second link.

I don't think that's the 5N. It's just the 5, isn't it?

It does just say '5'. Thanks for the catch.
