abam, cputeq:

Thank you for the comments. FYI, That pic was taken by Nikkor 50mm f1.2 at 1.2. This is a incredible lens and underrated. It has good contrast but not micro_contrast at f1.2. For artistic rendering, it doesn't matter much I guess.

As for lousy 24M file, I won't worry about it too much if I were in the market for a 24M APS_C camera. I have confidence that Sony will do their homework before introduce it to the market. You want high resolution, you loose some high ISO performance, that is just simple physics for current SOTA of Sensor. We can't ask D3X has the D3s low light performance. It is different tool for different usage.

Personally, I don't need that file size for my family use. 16M is enough for me.

Focus peaking is feature of NEX cameras (and A77/A65), that makes manual focusing much easier, basically it outlines objects with highest contrast (NEX has I think bit of red outline/glow), so what blings most, is usually at focus.

Would be great if every manufacturer added this into their LiveView equiped cameras.

Originaly its I think from professional movie cameras. I saw similar software for 5DMK2, loadable via CHKD.

I'm very happy with my 5N/C3 and imagine you will be too Michael. MF is great on these second generation nex bodies. I look forward to adding the oled evf to my 5N. The photographs you posted above of your children are just wonderful. I

5N is a second generation electronic device. Whatever quirks, issues and side-effects there were, Sony engineers had a year to analyze and fix these. Image- and general purpose processors are inherent sources of noise and will affect sensory and A/D circuitry. My guess is that great 5N IQ is not just a new sensor but also a result of this fine-tuning effort. I sold my 1 year old Nex 5 and ordered 5N along with the EVF. My plan is to wait for a 2nd gen NEX7 12 - 18 months from now.

Initial pics from the ZE 35 f:1.4 were also very mediocre.

forestmage:
thanks for the comment
I will buy the 5N first, though I think 7 is more like serious camera compare to 5N, which is like fancy P&S.
mike_hk2ksk:
I like the idea of buy 5N now and upgrade it in the future I am into the NEX. Compare to those Leica M, Zeiss ZF, the cost of upgrade is very reasonable
Philber:
Zeiss 35mm 1.4 is on my list. If I decide stick with my D700, this will be my next lens. I love what I see so far on this lens. I prefer planar to MP for my usage and I think 35mm 1.4 is better 1.4 lens out of the three.
Now the question will be which adapter I should use, the price is all over the place. Maybe I will start a new thread on it. So more member will benefit from it in the future.
Thanks again.

Looks great for iso 16000, the noise reduction is a bit high, which LR should be better, I'm looking forward to seeing what the Alt FMers will be posting for samples.

Not that I'd ever use that iso, 3200 max. And I'd have to stop bats in flight at night with no flash...

I think DPR and Imaging resource are having an affair, pictures from the same location...
last pic, same bottles and picture as above.

I think some of these images were taken at SONY's press launch event.

If you think the 5E is "a fancy P&S", you will have a delightful surprise!

Body wise it's a fancy PS, image wise it's a striped down D700 (let's not argue about the FF thing here, I am using this model because Zhangyue owns it )

Purely on cosmetic, I think it like a fancy P&S. You mean its performance will give me delightful surprise or its build quality?
Thanks.

Hopefully, it will since i will be the new member of NEX club. However, I have to say I have zero complain in terms D700's image quality, it is still exceed my capability. I see many discuss regarding D7000 vs D700 file quality, (Assume D7000 has the same sensor as 5N). To me, FF, ergonomics, build quality. VF, low light performance, everything above make D700 a better tool for me. I did low light shooting with fast glass a lot. and 12M is enough for my portrait use with occasionally landscape.

Since we talking about looking. I like 3C much better than 5N, it has much sleek and balance look than 5N. too pity, I can't use EVF on it, otherwise I will buy it for sure. I think Sony drop the ball here

You'll find IQ very good, but given your list of "likes" about the D700, as Isaid before, you should really try out a NEX before you commit as the ergo's are an entirely different animal than your DSLR.
