I have several of the Fotodiox C/Y to EOS and Pentax to EOS with focus confirmation for my 30D and they worked great for a week or so. Then I started having erratic focus behavior with the camera. Even when I switched back to Canon lenses, it still wouldn't focus properly. Just hunts and hunts. At first, this was only temporary and can be fixed by doing a cold reset of the camera. I continued using it, foolishly thinking I could just reset things if it happens again. Eventually the camera wouldn't focus at all. Had to send to Canon to replace the focusing mechanism.
I've since ripped out all the chips from the adapters and just focus manually. The adapters work well in this manner and aren't loose at all. If you have good focusing screen, I suggest just getting the adapter without the chip.
Maybe I had a bad batch of adapters, or may be my camera failed by coincidence. I'm just sharing my experience. Be careful.
