Several good members have already contributed to this thread, or linked to other places. Still, I have the CV125APO and the thread made me curious. Why is it I never use this lens?
I once owned a Pentax mount version of the CV125. Back then the lens didn't cost a lot and I bought it as it was the recommended lens for macros. I used it for a short time only as i I went to Canon (5D and 5DMkII) and the lens didn't fit, at least not without performing a leverectomi getting rid op the lens' aperture control pin. I sold it and have since then tried other great lenses in the range, including the Elmarit-R 100/2.8 Macro APO. When I found a CV125 again I bought it thinking it should serve me for many years.
By that time I went to 4/3 and micro 4/3 systems hailing portability rather than image quality. By time my eyesight got worse and I now need an EVF. For the moment APS-C is the biggesr sensor available for me.
Yesterday I needed to buy a few things. I decided to bring the CV125 for the short walk just to get a feeling of it with with a modern APS-C sensor.
Conditions: heavy overcast
Camera: A Sony Nex-5
Tripod: no, not when out for buying some groceries
Post processing: very mild only, ACR, standard contrast, no LCE, nothing special
I'm mainly into documentary and happy snaps. I'm good at that, or average. With a tele lens like this I'm a little lost. My bag usually contanis a 16mm, a 31mm and a 50 or 60mm lens. 125 is a very long lens for me.

This against the bright window, wide open. There is hardly any fringe and the little there is can be seen to the right."
We have trams in Gothenburg. That means a lot of noise and a lot of poles holding the wiring system:

That worked OK. Both the f/2.5 and the f/4 images are OK showing the metal work around the background chimney without too much purple. Here is a crop showing what associations the pipes gave to somebody:

Now I'm closer to the square and the grocery store. The signs made take this image, the bottom third is cropped away:

At the other side of the small local street a guy came biking, I think he listened to the music more than he payed attention to the traffic or his bike:

Thinking about it he probably was more like 15 meters away. With a Nex you can have the camera set to S priority and the ISO to Auto. That's what should have set it to. Now I didn't have the time to change both the aperture and the ISO value.
At Wieselgrensplatsen, a kind of square with several shops:

So it goes, shame on me for not checking the focus in enlarged view. An 190mm equivalent lens is tricky for street works. I know some like it... Normally i would have used my 31mm lens here. Now I had to be fast to capture the woman before other people around us got in the way. A lame excuse, I know. Here is the crop:

I don't know if this help or not. I learned the lens is too long for me. I'll put it up for sale as it deserves a better home. The day a FF Live view EVF camera surfaces I'll regret selling it. But having lenses on the shelf collecting dust is no good thing. I hope somebody else can put it to good use. I'll stay happy with my "long" 60mm lens for now.
