Just as I was dreading.
I mentioned once in one of the posts that the view through the lens is foggy. Just investigated it and I can clearly see the rear element is foggy.
Not sure if i really want to remove it to clean but I don't seem to have any other options....unless you got any interesting suggestions.

Shine with a bright flashlight through it. That will reveal any kind of haze that is otherwise hard to see. (Of course that doesn't solve the problem, but it may help in judging how substantial the haze really is.)

Aham, I did.
The haze is quite substantial. Will try to take photo of it when I get home. (un)luckily? only rear element is affected....

Ok, wish me luck - going to attempt removing mount and clean the rear element...if you are interested, I can try to post the shots of the process....

I think a fogged rear (or front) element is on of the simpliest places to get it cleaned.
In a zoom lens it is sometimes hard to get it open, but still better than a fogged element near the iris for example.

My suggestion is to mark the element with some permament marker before completly disassembley the last barrel - just in case it falls out of the barrel.

How deep is the last element recessed at minimum position?
Do you have a spanner wrench - or something you could use as one?
Probably a caliper would help - but grinded the outer part, not the inner like mine:

I got the couple of special spanners for the job.
The rear element is concave and is not recessed that deeply. I got a small suction tool for lifting the detached elements, but I am afraid the rear element is too small for it.
Shame, since I would love to avoid finger contact...

Good idea. At the moment I got some white fabric gloves which are rather tight on microfibres.

Cotton film handling gloves work. Mark element(s) to make sure they go back in the correct order, AND the correct front-to-back sense. Some kind of adhesive tape can be used to pick up a lens element if the suction cup fails.
