"No MA for me...MA isnt really supposed to be used on Zooms if I remember correctly... I could be wrong."
Of course you can and should use micro adjust to dial in all of you lenses, zooms included. The recommendation is to do your micro adjust at the long end of the zoom range. If the lens needs a different setting at other focal lengths, there are internal adjustments Canon can make to bring them all in line. To have to do some micro adjusting is absolutely normal. It allow you to compensate for normal factory manufacturing tolerances. Some lenses need no adjustment, some slight, and others more.
"For a zoom, its amazing, but I dont think it compares to a fast L prime like the 85 or 135...but its not far off..."
For a zoom it IS amazing and what's so amazing is that other than minor distortions at both end of the zoom range, it's actually sharper than the lenses it replaces, even wide open. That this lens is sharper than a very sharp copy of 200mm 1.8 when both are wide open speaks volumes. Stop the prime to 2.8 and they are equal. And it does so with excellent contrast wide open as well.
