I know there are probably a hundred of these on the board but i don't care...
Over the last few years I have tried to like the 70-200 2.8 IS, but it was never sharp enough for me. After trying 2 copies and multiple trips to CPS I decided I would be better off using primes and pick up a 135L to see how it would work. I ended up using it as my workhorse portrait and wedding lens along with the 50 and 16-35... it is amazing the bokeh, sharpness, contrast, and over all IQ are phenomenal. Since the mark 2 came I have been saving and thought I would give it a try. I just got it in the mail yesterday and took it to an E-session last night...and all I can say is WOW. It is amazing, finally a 70-200 that I am happy with!
Anyone on the fence about paying 2500 bucks for a new mkII, if you are considering it...go for it. You will be happy!
I will admit it is weird going from the small light size of the 135, to the seeminly hugh 70-200...its not a small difference. But it is totally worth it.
The IS for video is amazing too! I was shooting at 200mm on my 5d2 and it looked like I was on a tripod. just amazing!
OK im going to shut up now and get back to editing so I can post some images.
