Getting ready for the fall season, I did some test shots to become familiar with the pano gear again.

Fuji S5, Contax 35-70 at 70mm/4, OOC JPGs. Cheap 3D!

One of my favorite panos, taken with a Sigma 50 1.4 on a 5d2...

Handheld 39 shot stitch. Nearly impossible to avoid casts through the glass.
(Don't shoot the piano player, he is playing as well he can...)

Wow, excellent result! I guess there isn't anything I could show you after all. You look to have the technique well under control.

Thanks Carsten, but that one is full of errors at 100% but I'm not going to tell where they are as I hope its not too noticeable at this size. Must have spent a good few hours tweaking this one in PTGUI and its about as good as I can make it.

Hopefully going back to full frame and using the 100 will lessen the pain of any future attempts!

I went out in the vicinity of Berlin Schöneberg to do some panos of old but nicely maintained residential buildings.

I used EOS 5D II and OM Zuiko f/1.4 50mm

I already commented on the smaller version, but seeing this I have to add a "WOW!" to my comments. This just jumps from my screen, love it! ANd this larger version confirms that you really have to view these shallow DOF panos at appropriate sizes, else much of the impact is lost due to gain in DOF.

Here are two I made in Africa earlier this year. The first is of the great migration and the wildebeests that crossed the river. The second is of the flamingos at Lake Nakuru...hard to make out individual flamingos but trust me, there were more than one could count.

Both taken with a D7000 and 35mm f/1.8

Thanks Carsten!

sebboh -- Great shot -- that's an awesome use of pano technique! I've got to get back up to Sequoia and Yosemite now that pano has been invented.
