Neat, I like your B&W processing style. It really fits the kind of photos you are shooting. Meanwhile my cam is in the mail, so could be I will get it tomorrow. :-D

Yayyy, got my JJC filter adapter and hood in the mail today. Looks really nice on the camera and i don't notice a difference in colour at all. The only thing that worries me is leaving it on there while in my bag as the metal seems fairly pliable. The little notches that lock the hood onto the adapter ring are quite easy to bend with just the pressure of your finger. What has everyone else been doing? How do you tote your camera on a daily basis? Lens cap on when in bag? Just a UV/Skylight filter and no cap? Hood and no cap? The OEM lens cap is beautiful but it just isn't practical sometimes. Thanks in advance for your comments.

I have that filter ring/hood combo on the way too. Bummer to hear it is so delicate.

My x100 failed to power on this morning after a full charge last night.
Put the battery back in the charger and the light went out after a few minutes to indicate the battery was full, but cam still wouldn't power up.
The retailer are sending a new one tomorrow.

I had a very very strange incident this morning as well. It basically locked and stayed locked up through pulling the battery. Eventually twiddling the aperture and ss seemed to get it to snap out of it... very very odd. This was after using a 430ex in the hot shoe - should that make any difference.

I would disagree with that.. but it works better on full frame and with faster glass.

I read Zack Arias' review on the X100 and took his advice.

Ordered (2) UV filter, 1 multi-coated and one cheap one. I'll probably carry the camera like that with no lens cap or hood. I also ordered the black rapid snapr strap he uses. He carries the camera everywhere with him (as I plan to) and seems very happy with it. Of course, I have all these accessories sitting here and no x100 yet (it will be here Tuesday) so obviously I have done no real-world testing yet.

I reveived my camera today, but came home late, so no real pictues taken yet. But I must share my fascination for what Fuji achieved here and I'm wondering why none of the bigger manufactures were quicker. This EVF/OVF is simply amazing! And when I review shots taken in the viewfinder, it reminds me of the time when I found my parents' slides and this thing (dunno the name for it) where you could put the slides in and look at them against the light through a loupe. The way they connected nostalgia with modern digital photography is so lovely and inspiring that I immediately fell in love with this camera.

Sorry to post this in the pictures thread, of course those will follow. To be honest I was not as fascinated by a camera for long. Next time I will post pictures :-D

Sounds odd. I assume you didn't have a memory disk inside the camera? Sometimes, if the card hasn't been reformatted or have been used in another device -- it will take long as 15 seconds for the camera to power up.

It happened once when I mounted my Nikon flash on top of my X100. I wouldn't be concerned.

I think he has gotten rid of the Black Rapid SnapR case. I also ordered the same bag after his recommendation on the blog, but I found the experience of putting the camera in and out of the bag to be a hassle. I'm thinking of getting rid of it and purchasing a custom leather case for the X100.

I plan on using it without the bag just like a regular black rapid strap. This one is nice because it's smaller.

I took only four pictures today during a little walk. When I started naming them after the time they were captured, I realized they were shot within 11 minues! The X100 gives great yield per time.

The motorcycle shot required two exposures since the first one was blurred from camera shake.

Makten: I think your eye has great yield per time as well. When I walk around I try to spot texture photos like you but very rarely find good ones.

johnahill: We had a really cool tree like that by our house as well but they recently chopped it down. ;(

FlyPenFly: Cool perspective of being out over the tracks.

domdog31: I use their straps on all of my dSLR cams because of the neoprene and love it. What model did you get for your X100?

Was at the cottage all weekend so I didn't get the post anything. Hopefully I will have some time soon to process them.
