I bought this lens as soon as it hit the stores, and I certainly haven't been disappointed with it yet.
It's amazingly sharp - even wide open at f/2.8 - and the addition of IS just puts the icing on the cake.
On an APS-C body, there isn't a single lens on the market that can match the complete package of the 17-55. Pair it up with an EF 70-200 f/2.8 IS and you've got yourself a near unbeatable two lens setup!
