Pros:
normal lens for APS-C, beautiful bokeh, fast and silent AF, center sharpness, price, f/1.4
Cons:
corner softness, hard focus ring
There is no real alternative of this lens (Nikon 28mm f/1.4 price tag is horrible, N 35mm f/2 is another category, Sigma 28mm f/1.8 is slow, heavy, no HSM, focusing problems).
Fortunatelly this lens is very good normal lens and very fast. The one corner softness is not as bad as i mean, before i bought the lens, tolerable at wide open and ok from f/2.8.
Perfect for low light photography, portrait, landscape, etc.

Pros:
Fast, very good quality, easy, little
Cons:
no AF-S, purple fringing

Wide open maybe a little soft, but still usable, at f/4: extreme sharp and contrast, at f/8 the center and border are especialy sharp.
Perfect for portrait and almost for all category of photography.

Pros:
zoom range, 24mm - f/2.8, a good general lens
Cons:
missing zoom lock switch, noisy AF
I love this lens, for travel, portrait, landscape. Better choice than an ultra zoom (e.g. 18-200).
Certainly not a perfect lens (for this price).
Only the zoom lock switch is missing, because the heavy front lens drags the objective.
