Built like a tank ! F1.2 aperture, Sharp Sharp, Excellent contrast and color
|
|
Cons:
|
Heavy (but because of its size - holds well in your hand) , Expensive, AF slower AF than other L prime

This is a wonderful lens !! I have the 35L and added this one and I am very pleased with the results. the lens is heavy but it's only 250g more than a 135L or 50g more than a 24-70L...the bokeh is awesome and having f1.2 is really nice for hand hold stage photography and low light shooting.
The lens is expensive and will be selling my 24-70L to fund it. my prime setting is 35L + 85L and I can't further recommend those lenses.
The quality of the lens, color and contrast are really what made me decide to buy this lens.
One thing that is annoying the focusing ring that is not mechanical but electronic manual focusing.
The AF is not as bad as you would think !

I got this lens as I wanted to have a low light prime lens. I used to shoot around 35-40mm with my 24-70L so I got this lens and wasn’t disappointed at all. The lens is really sharp and produces so nice colors. With this lens you can shoot in low light without bumping your ISO. I always keep it as a complement to my 24-70L. One thing that is hard to master at the beginning is the shallow depth of field and at F1.4 shooting family group photo isn’t the best solutions.
Overall it’s a great lens and you really feel you are holding a piece of rock (actually glass !!!)

It's an Amazing Lens. That lens was my first and only lens for 4 months when I got my 10D and I got superb result with it.
Used on a tripod, at night, it delivers wonderful and sharp images.
I only wish the range to be greater (like 17-60mm)..but that's OK!
An excellent walk around lens for 1.6crop factor type DSLR user who likes Lanscape shots
PS Wow this is the 100th Review :!!!!

Cheap, light, fast lens

|
Cons:

Noisy, Very Slow, medium bokeh at F1.8 and a bit soft

This a nice lens, which might help you in low light situation.
It's priced at a vert good price but don't expect from that lens, amazing results. For 70$ you get good shots. Nevertheless it is quite slow to focus and it's really annoying. Very soft from 1.8-2.8 unfortunately
