Canon EF 200mm f/2L IS USM

Review Date: Jun 9, 2010 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $5,199.00 | Rating: 10

Pros: One of the sharpest lens I've ever shot with. Small, hand holdable, and extremely fast focus.
As usual......very pricey!

Superb combo with the new MKIV. Also works great with both the 1.4 and the 2X. Also shares the same filter size with the other "White Whales". This had turned into my favorite sideline len. Sample images under P-51's on the forum.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM

Review Date: Mar 12, 2010 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $2,499.00

Pros: Well built, a little heavierthan the series 1 - and the lens barrel is all the same size. Still takes 77mm filters, (good), and it is a notch sharper than the series 1, which is hard to believe. Linked up with the 7D, its a killer. The Af is extremely fast. The AF, with both the 1.4 and the 2.0 extender's focus faster that the series 1. Very pleased with lens. Hope Canon upgrades the 300 and the 400 next.
The only one I had was the price.

The feel is 'beefer', a little heavier and the lens fits the hand better, as the 'tube' is all the same size. The 77mm filter is consistant with the prior, and the lens hood has a different method to snap on and off.

When using this with the 7D, the AF seems to be faster than the series 1. Both of the extenders work very well with the new lens. If theres a flaw, I'm not sure what it might be. Pleased with the purchase!

Canon EOS 7D

Review Date: Dec 12, 2009 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,600.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: Small chassic, great for sports, the tracking and focus work extremely well with the 200 F/2.0 and the 500 F/4
None so far

Looking for a lower cost alternative to the 1DS series for sports only, and this is the ticket!! Also works very well with both of the extenders. The new focus and tracking features work extremely well.

Canon TS-E 24mm f/3.5L II

Pros: Solid, well built, excellent optics, better working range than the earlier T/S lens.

This lens represents what we've come to expect from the quality leader in the industry......keep up the good work Canon.

Canon EF 16-35mm f/2.8L II USM

Review Date: Mar 31, 2007 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,599.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: Improvement over the original, especially around the perimeter of the len - sharper that first series. Clean and extremly clear throughout the working range of the lens. Solid, superb autofocus - a little faster than the original. Typical "L" seires feel to the lens.
The 82mm filter - even where I purchased it, Glazier's in Seattle, didint stock any 82mm filters. Was hoping that the prising would be better.....but, you get what you pay for. A little heafty, but to be expected on a lens this wide and fast.
