Nikon 70-200mm f/2.8G ED-IF AF-S VR

Review Date: May 28, 2006 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,600.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: Great build, VR usefulness, sharpness wide open, focusing speed, less weight than the 80-200 AF-S.
Its really long in physical size compaired to its older brothers (80-200 AF-D, 80-200 AF-S), VR takes some getting used to.

I have gotten tack sharp shots at 1/20th of a second with this lens when it is in it's "Active" mode. It's absolutely great, sadly I've not had a chance to try shooting any sports with it yet, but I'm sure it won't let me down.

Sigma 70-200mm f2.8 EX APO IF HSM

Review Date: Nov 18, 2005 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $600.00 | Rating: 9

Pros: Fast 2.8 aperature and sharp wide open, good bokeh and dof, not to bulky in size, fast and quiet focusing on a pro body cam.
Stiff zoom ring, heavy, cheapish feeling hood and front cap, focus not very good on my d70 but acceptable.

I like this lens alot, I got it used for $600 in mint cond. I am very happy with it. I like it much better than my schools Nikkor 80-200 2.8 (two touch non af-s), but the Nikkor AF-S version is better, for the money though the Sigma is very hard to beat.

Nikon 18-70 f/3.5-4.5G AFS DX

Pros: Quiet, Nice Zoom, Fairly Wide, ED Elements
Slower f3.5-4.5

I got mine with my D70 Outfit package. So far I am very satisfied with it and look forward to seeing what it is capable of.
