Of the 19 Nikkor lenses I presently owned, this was my favorite and most often used until I purchased the newer 105mm f/2.8 Micro with VR.

If my memory serves me correctly, this particular model has a rotating front. I/m not going to get it out of lockup to make sure, but do consider the newer version. Both versions are super, super sharp.
