Canon EF 70-200mm f/4L IS USM

Review Date: Jan 6, 2007 Recommend? yes | Price paid: $1,059.00 | Rating: 10

Tripod mount is extra, but with the IS feature it's almost a non necessity.

I finally got some decent weather to run this lens thru some tests. All I can say is wow what a piece of glass. I sold my 70-200 2.8 L USM a while back and replaced it with this lens. Not the slightest regret. This lens is sharp - sharp - sharp !!! Works great with the Canon 1.4x TC. There is no loss of sharpness at all. If don't need f2.8 and you can get your paws on this lens suffice to say that you will not be dissapointed at all. Perfect sharpness, great contrast - all-in-all another fantastic lens from Canon.

Canon EF 300mm f/4L IS USM

Pros: Super, super sharp. Lightweight, TC works flawlessly.

I just purchased this lens and it is SHARP !!! The contrast, color and sharpness of this lens is absolutely fantastic. Works great with the 1.4 TC, retains full AF and IS features. I didn't like the 100-400 with a TC (used the pin tape method) so I decided to try the 300 f4. This is a fantastic lens. With the 1.6 crop it gives you 480mm and with the 1.4 TC you get 672mm. Would like to try it with the 2x TC. Image qualtiy with the 1.4 TC is excellent with no appreciable degredation. Highly recommended.
