This is my first 1 series canon upgrading from a 20d. Serial no 522xxx, this camera seems to auto focus quickly and accurately in AF servo mode. The viewfinder is really easy to see through. The high ISO peformance is fantastic, I am planning to use this camera on a photographic trip to the arctic in november. I would have liked a mirror lockup button but canon seemingly are never going to give us one of those. I found the 1d very intuitive to use and in many ways similar to the 20d.

fiddly ergonomics nasty kit lens

This was my first digital SLR. It re kindled my interest in photography. I have taken this camera to the rainforest and the sahara desert and it has performed very well . Its a great first dslr but...for a bit more money you can have a 20d or 30D Canon. I have a 20d which is much nicer to use, it handles better, the menu is more intuitive and I would never use this camera in preference.
I am upgrading my 20d soon and will give the 350d to my daughter. With a decent lens it won't dissapoint

Pros:

light weight picture quality image stabilliser

|
Cons:

uk price too high

had to have this lens. I neede a small high quality telephoto for travel etc and this is perfect. The image stabilliser is excellent and the lens is neat and compact. The uk street price of £990 is crazy especially compared to the f2.8 but i think that this will come down making the lens a good buy

Cons:

Its heavy to carry around

A must have for wildlife photography. Superb optics and build quality. This lens is definitely sharper than my 100-400 zoom .It is brilliant with the canon extenders. It is heavy and needs a better strap than the canon one it is supplied with

Used this lens extensively whilst touring south america with a 350d.
Performs ok in good light but is weaker at longer focal lengths and has a very slow and noisy af. Its ok as a travel and walkabout lens but is markedly inferior to my efs 60mm and my 17-40 lenses.
